A table set for six
You are one of six friends who used to meet every month.
Since an argument split the group last year, you have organized three reunion dinners. Tonight, at a restaurant table set for six, only Efua and Meena have come.
The scene
Efua: Three dinners, and it's us three again. Maybe that's our answer.
Meena: Or they need more time. Dana almost came tonight, she told me so.
Efua: Every empty chair hurts you. I watch it happen each time.
Meena: One more try. A picnic, no pressure. Will you set it up?
The two questions
- 1What would you say to Efua and Meena, and would you try again?
- 2How do you tell the difference between giving up too early and holding on too long?
What raters look for
- Resilience
- Recovers from setbacks, manages stress constructively, and learns from failure.
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
