Personal question · Self-awareness, Ethics
The role I always play
Friendships often settle into habits: one person always plans, always cancels, always agrees or always smooths things over. These roles can go unnoticed until something small makes them visible. Think about a friendship of yours where that happened.
The two questions
- 1Describe a time you noticed a pattern in how you behaved with a friend, such as always planning, always cancelling or always agreeing. What made you notice it, and what did it show you about yourself?
- 2Tell us about a time you acted on a pattern like this once you saw it. What did you do, how did your friend respond, and what would you do differently now?
What raters look for
- Self-awareness
- Recognizes own biases, limits and emotions, and seeks and uses feedback.
- Ethics
- Weighs competing duties honestly, protects people from harm, and stays accountable to rules and values.
