Scene to read · Ethics, Self-awareness
The price we agreed on
You are the friend who booked a group cabin stay and is responsible for resolving the price with the owner.
In your kitchen before the trip, you discuss the booking with your friends Viggo, 54, and Violeta, 24. You sent the owner all six guests' names before accepting a quote, but the quote covered four people. The owner now requests a per-guest supplement before arrival. Everyone agrees the booking must accurately reflect six guests, but the supplement exceeds Violeta's agreed spending limit, and everyone has booked vacation days.
The scene
Viggo: They had all six names; shouldn't they honor the price they quoted?
Violeta: I agree, but if they refuse, I can't pay above my limit.
Viggo: The quote does say four guests; canceling would waste our vacation days.
Violeta: Can you challenge the supplement before asking anyone to cover my share?
The two questions
- 1How would you approach the pricing dispute and the group's plans, and why?
