Does it stay up?
You are the admin of the message group for your apartment building.
On Saturday morning at the laundromat, your neighbor Pooja shows you what she posted to the group last night: a screenshot of a rude private message a resident sent her about her children, with his phone number showing. Farah, another neighbor, is folding at the same table.
The scene
Pooja: He called my kids animals in that message. The whole building should know.
Farah: He sent it to her, so it's hers. His number's on the lobby sheet.
Pooja: Forty neighbors have reacted already. They're all waiting to see what you do.
Farah: You're the admin. So does it stay up, or not?
The two questions
- 1What would you do about the post, and what would you say to Pooja?
- 2When, if ever, is it fair to share a private message with a wider group?
What raters look for
- Ethics
- Weighs competing duties honestly, protects people from harm, and stays accountable to rules and values.
- Professionalism
- Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
