What the wall let through

In shared homes and buildings, private things sometimes reach us without being offered: a letter left on the counter, a voice through a wall, a screen left open. Think about what you did with something you were never meant to know.

The two questions

  1. 1Tell us about a time you came to know something private about someone you lived with or near, without being told. What did you weigh in deciding what to do with it?
  2. 2Tell us about a time you handled such private information. What did you do, and looking back, what would you keep or change about how you handled it, and what did it show you about yourself?
