Written scenario · Professionalism, Collaboration

Late again, and a friend

You are the volunteer team lead at a community hall event.

You lead a team of volunteers who set up and run a weekend food drive in a busy community hall. Your close friend Dana, who volunteers with you, has arrived late and left early for several weeks, and she has not said why. Other volunteers have started to notice and to cover her tasks. You can speak to her privately, announce an attendance rule for everyone, or do something else. The next shift begins in two days.

The two questions

  1. 1What would you do, and why?
  2. 2Tell us about a time you had to hold a friend or someone close to you to the same standard as everyone else. What did you do, and what happened?

What raters look for

Professionalism
Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
Collaboration
Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
