Fifth call from home

You work at the front desk of a physical therapy clinic.

Mr. Doyle, a client who once asked the clinic never to call his home number, left his phone at the front desk an hour ago, and it keeps ringing. Your friend Carla, who lives next door to him, has stopped by to bring you lunch. Ben, a coworker in his first month, is at the desk with you.

What's said in the scene

Ben: Mr. Doyle's phone again. Fifth call from 'Home.' Should I just answer it?

Carla: Frank Doyle? My neighbor? His wife's car broke down today. She may be stranded.

Ben: Then one of us picks up, or you run it over to him.

Carla: Happy to. They'll ask where I found it, though.

The two questions

  1. 1What would you do about the phone, and what would you say to Carla and Ben?
  2. 2Describe a time you were trusted with information that other people wanted from you. How did you handle it?
