Scene to read · Professionalism, Collaboration
Credit line, private name
You are the project coordinator between a client and a freelance illustrator at a small design studio.
In the studio office, a contract and credits page are open on the screen. Sabina, the client's representative, says her company requires legal names on public credits. Salim, the freelance illustrator, works under a pseudonym and has said he has reasons to stay private.
The scene
Sabina: Our policy is firm, Salim. Every public credits page carries the contributor's legal name.
Salim: I understand the policy, Sabina, but I have my reasons for staying private.
Sabina: I respect that. Still, I can't approve a page that breaks our rules.
Salim: Then I'm asking you both to find a way that works.
The two questions
- 1What would you do, and why?
- 2Tell us about a time you had to balance an organization's requirements against another person's needs or wishes. How did you handle it?
What raters look for
- Professionalism
- Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
