Scene to read · Professionalism, Equity
Maybe I only watch
You work on a bank's video help line.
You are on a video call guiding a couple, Mehdi and Tao, who sit side by side at their kitchen table, through setting up a shared banking app. The account is in both names, and Tao has kept the laptop in front of himself. Mehdi speaks English as a second language.
The scene
Mehdi: Please, slowly. I'd like to press the buttons myself this time.
Tao: Love, last year a fake bank call got four thousand dollars from you. I'm scared.
Mehdi: That's true. Maybe it's better if I only watch.
Tao: See, we agree. Just give me the steps. It's safer for us both, yes?
The two questions
- 1How would you continue the call?
- 2Describe a time you were helping two people and one of them was being talked over or dismissed. What did you do?
What raters look for
- Professionalism
- Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
- Equity
- Notices unequal access or treatment and acts fairly, especially for people with less power.
