Four wins, five losses

You captain a team in a weekly community trivia league.

Your teammate Casimir, who is 66 and the team's longest-serving member, shows you a tally of your post-game talks this month. After all four wins you credited the way you assign categories; after all five losses you blamed luck or badly worded questions. He says two teammates have stopped suggesting changes, and he wants you to say so to the team before Friday's season final. You think two of those losses really were bad luck, the team has told you it plays best when you sound sure, and you were re-elected captain on your record as a strategist.

The two questions

  1. 1How would you respond to Casimir, and what, if anything, would you say to the team before Friday?
  2. 2Describe a time someone showed you a pattern in your own behavior that you had not noticed. What did you do with it?

What raters look for

Self-awareness
Recognizes own biases, limits and emotions, and seeks and uses feedback.
Collaboration
