Scene to read · Self-awareness, Resilience
What's going on with you?
You are a university student living at home during exam season.
You have three exams this week. Your 11-year-old brother, Jae, asked for help with his math homework, and you snapped at him to leave you alone. Your mother walks into the kitchen as he turns away.

The scene
Jae: Forget it. I'll figure it out myself.
Mother: He just wanted help. You've been like this all week, with everyone.
Mother: (to you) What's going on with you?
The two questions
- 1How would you respond, and what would you do next?
- 2How do you recognize when stress is affecting how you treat other people?
What raters look for
- Self-awareness
- Recognizes own biases, limits and emotions, and seeks and uses feedback.
- Resilience
- Recovers from setbacks, manages stress constructively, and learns from failure.
