I'll wash them at mine

You are at a laundromat late on a weeknight with your close friend Trevor.

Trevor has just told you his apartment has bedbugs and begged you to tell no one, including his partner, Emil, who lives across town. Emil walks in and reaches for Trevor's unwashed laundry bags on the folding table.

The scene

Emil: This place closes in twenty minutes. I'll take these two and wash them at mine.

Trevor: No, leave them. I'm fine here. Really, don't bother.

Emil: Don't be silly, my machine's free. Why are you being strange about laundry?

Trevor: I'm not being strange. Back me up, it's easier to finish here, right?

The two questions

  1. 1What would you say in this moment, and what would you say to Trevor afterward?
  2. 2When does keeping a friend's secret stop being the right thing to do?
