How much to say about drafting

You are the project coordinator and have final say on what goes to the client with the summary.

In a small office meeting room, a shared screen shows a one-page project summary due today. Remus, 45, a senior teammate, produced it using an AI draft that you substantially checked and corrected. Rishi, 58, manages the client relationship, and everyone agrees the facts are accurate. The client requested a concise summary and set no rule about writing tools.

The scene

Remus: A detailed process note could bury the summary the client actually requested.

Rishi: I'd attach a detailed note explaining the AI draft and your corrections.

Remus: Could we credit our actual roles without listing every tool and revision?

Rishi: I'm open to shorter wording, but what will we send them today?

The two questions

  1. 1What would you decide to tell the client about how the summary was produced, and why?
  2. 2Tell us about a time you had to explain how a piece of work was done without overstating or understating your own part.

What raters look for

Communication
Listens first, speaks clearly and respectfully, and adapts the message to the listener.
Problem solving
Gathers facts before acting, considers options and consequences, and chooses a workable next step.
