Two customers this month
You are at a climbing gym with your close friends Esteban and Chelsea.
You are resting on a bench between bouldering routes, with a few other climbers within earshot. Your mutual friend Priya left her job to start a mobile bike repair business that is struggling. Last week she asked you whether people talk about her behind her back, and you told her no.
The scene
Esteban: Priya's repair van got two customers this month. Two! She quit a salary for that.
Chelsea: Stop. Okay, it's a little funny. Somebody should've warned her.
Esteban: We all thought it. Nobody had the nerve.
Chelsea: She asked you if people talk about her, didn't she? What'd you say?
The two questions
- 1What would you say to Esteban and Chelsea, and when?
- 2When is it better to challenge friends in the moment, and when is it better to wait?
