The deleted message

You work on a six-person team at an insurance office.

This morning Wes posted a sarcastic comment about Lila's presentation in the team chat, meaning to send it to a friend, and deleted it within a minute. You saw it. He has told you she presented his analysis as her own; you were not at that meeting. He is beside you in the break room when Lila walks in.

The scene

Wes: If she asks, it was an inside joke about the projector. One more complaint and I'm out.

Lila: Wes. People say you wrote something about my presentation.

Wes: It was nothing. A dumb joke about the projector.

Lila: Was it? You saw it too. I'd rather hear it from you.

The two questions

  1. 1How would you respond to Lila?
  2. 2Tell us about a time you were caught between two people who each wanted you on their side.
