What was so funny?
You are out for pizza with your close friend Dinesh.
After Lan, your server, took the order and walked away, Dinesh repeated it in an imitation of her accent, and you laughed before you could stop yourself. Dinesh does the same affectionate impressions of his own parents. Lan comes back to the booth with your drinks.
The scene
Lan: Two lemonades. You two were having fun over here. What was so funny?
Dinesh: Oh, nothing. Just a dumb joke. My family does voices all the time.
Lan: Voices? I thought I heard my own order coming back at me.
Dinesh: No, no. Tell her. We were just messing around, right?
