Taking notes again
You are one of five junior analysts on a team at a marketing firm.
The team is preparing a pitch to a new client. In every meeting so far, the team lead, Brandon, has asked one of the two women on the team, Chloe or Mariana, to take notes and book rooms, and asked the men to present.
What's said in the scene
Brandon: Chloe, you'll take notes again? You're so organized. Ethan and I will handle the pitch.
Chloe: (after a pause) ...Sure.
Brandon: (to you) That split works for you, right?
The two questions
- 1What would you do, in the meeting and afterwards?
- 2Why can small, repeated patterns in how work is assigned matter?
What raters look for
- Equity
- Notices unequal access or treatment and acts fairly, especially for people with less power.
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
