Two cooks on your line have stopped talking

You are a line cook at a busy family restaurant.

Two fellow cooks, Rosa and Dev, had a shouting match over a burned order last week and have not spoken since. They now pass everything through you, and tickets are running late. During the Friday dinner rush, a server comes into the kitchen.

What's said in the scene

Server: Table twelve has been waiting forty minutes. I'm running out of excuses out there.

Rosa: Ask Dev. Oh wait, he doesn't listen to anybody.

Server: (to you) You're friends with both of them. Can you please do something?

The two questions

  1. 1What would you do, tonight and in the days after?
  2. 2What is your role when two people you work with are in conflict and you are not their manager?

What raters look for
