Correcting the anniversary draft

You are the volunteer archivist recommending how to correct an anniversary booklet draft after finding a contradictory historical record.

In the club office, beside stacked minute books, booklet editor Florin, 46, and the founder's grandson Fulvio, 59, discuss your discovery. A draft already emailed to members claims the founder never excluded anyone; decades-old minutes record a member being unfairly pushed out over a personal dispute nobody now remembers. Printing is tomorrow, and Florin has asked you to recommend how to correct the claim and notify readers.

The scene

Florin: I'll change that sentence before printing, but should we email everyone again?

Fulvio: Please correct it without naming my family; they'll get questions all evening.

Florin: Some members already quoted that draft while inviting guests to the celebration.

Fulvio: Could we flag the correction without making that dispute the whole announcement?

The two questions

  1. 1How would you recommend correcting the claim, reaching people who received the draft, and responding to Florin and Fulvio?
  2. 2Tell us about a time you had to weigh honesty against someone's feelings or a shared celebration. What did you decide, and what did you learn about yourself?
