Two hundred views

You are visiting your close friends Arief and Chayton at home.

Arief runs an online woodworking channel from a studio corner in the home he shares with his partner, Chayton. His slow, careful build videos get few views; the quick gadget reviews he dislikes making get ten times more and bring in some income.

The scene

Chayton: The gadget reviews pay our internet bill. The long builds get two hundred views.

Arief: The builds are why I started. Reviews feel like homework for strangers.

Chayton: Give people what they watch, then build for yourself on weekends.

Arief: You've watched both kinds. What would you do with the channel?

The two questions

  1. 1What would you say to Arief and Chayton?
  2. 2Describe a time you had to choose between work that paid off and work you found meaningful. What did you choose, and why?
