The photo of the frame
You ride for an amateur cycling team.
Between race stages you sit in the team van with Nabil, a fellow rider, and Yael, the team mechanic. Riders are whispering that the team leader's bike hides an illegal motor; she maintains that bike herself and picks next season's roster. Officials inspect only on a signed complaint. Yesterday you photographed an odd bulge in its frame that could be anything.
The scene
Nabil: Six of us are in that chat, without her. Just post the photo.
Yael: Then it's six people guessing. Sign a complaint and let officials look.
Nabil: Sign my name on a hunch? If we're wrong, she'll never forgive it.
Yael: And a photo in a secret chat is kinder? It's your picture.
The two questions
- 1What would you do with the photo, and what would you say to Nabil and Yael?
- 2When does asking questions about a teammate become spreading a rumor?
What raters look for
- Professionalism
- Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
- Ethics
- Weighs competing duties honestly, protects people from harm, and stays accountable to rules and values.
