When the captain picked badly
A lineup, a set list, a game plan, a route: on any team somebody else picks, and now and then you are fairly sure they have picked badly. Think about one such moment with a coach, captain, conductor or shift lead.
The two questions
- 1Tell us about a time you believed the person in charge of your team or group was making the wrong call. How did you decide whether it was your place to say something?
- 2Describe the way you raised it, or the reasons you stayed quiet. What happened, and what would you do differently now?
What raters look for
- Professionalism
- Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
- Communication
- Listens first, speaks clearly and respectfully, and adapts the message to the listener.
