Twenty reviews by tonight
You play in a community walking soccer league for adults.
The company Felipe represents pays for your league's field. After practice, in a locker room stacked with boxes of sponsor shirts, he hands every player a free pair of its new shoes. Everyone has tried them on; nobody has played in them. Your teammate Sekou already has his phone out.
The scene
Felipe: Shoes are yours to keep. All I ask is a five-star review tonight.
Sekou: Already typing. They feel great, and these folks pay for our field.
Felipe: My boss decides on renewing tomorrow. Twenty reviews would really make the case.
Sekou: Nineteen of us are in. Come on, what are you writing?
The two questions
- 1What would you do, and what would you say to Felipe and Sekou?
- 2Describe a time you were offered something and felt you were expected to give something back. How did you handle it?
What raters look for
- Professionalism
- Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
- Ethics
- Weighs competing duties honestly, protects people from harm, and stays accountable to rules and values.
