Scene to read · Collaboration, Resilience
Why sweat the details?
You lead four new volunteers updating a nonprofit's online directory of local services.
Each night, without telling them, you have gone back and corrected most of their listings yourself. The site relaunches in four days with sixty listings left. At a coworking table during tonight's editing session, Javier and Carmen stop typing.
The scene
Javier: Can I be honest? I stopped checking phone numbers. You redo everything anyway.
Carmen: Same. Mine came back rewritten, no notes. So why sweat the details?
Javier: Yours are better, honestly. With four days left, maybe keep doing that.
Carmen: Or show us what you change, and it'll be slower. Your call. Which?
The two questions
- 1What would you do for the next four days, and what would you say to Javier and Carmen?
- 2Describe a time you took over work that others were supposed to do. What happened, and what did you learn?
What raters look for
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
- Resilience
- Recovers from setbacks, manages stress constructively, and learns from failure.
