Written scenario · Collaboration, Empathy
Labels on the shelves
You share a house with three other people.
The four of you pay into a shared grocery fund each month. Tendai, the housemate you are closest to, stopped paying two months ago after losing his job but still eats from the shared shelves; he has not raised it, and neither has anyone else. The other two have begun labeling their food and now ask you to agree to end shared groceries altogether, which needs all three paying members. Tendai tells you privately that he has an interview next week and asks you to buy him a little more time.
The two questions
- 1What would you do, and what would you say to your housemates?
- 2Describe a time someone in a group you belonged to could not contribute their share. How did the group handle it?
What raters look for
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
- Empathy
- Recognizes what others feel and need, and lets that shape the response without losing judgment.
