Written scenario · Collaboration, Communication
The star player
You are an assistant coach for a high school girls' basketball team.
Your best player, Keisha, scores most of the team's points but rarely passes, and she criticizes teammates loudly when they make mistakes. The team is winning, but two players have told you they dread practice, and several parents have complained that their daughters barely touch the ball. The head coach, who cares a lot about winning, asks what you think.

The two questions
- 1What would you recommend to the head coach?
- 2Can someone be an excellent individual performer and still be bad for a team? Explain.
What raters look for
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
- Communication
- Listens first, speaks clearly and respectfully, and adapts the message to the listener.
