Two hundred forty in the van
You are the drummer in a three-piece band, sitting in the back of the van with your cases.
After a small gig, the band was paid $240 in cash. Ulla writes all the songs. Urban owns the sound gear and hauls it to every show. You are the drummer, and your share is part of the decision; the gear is half-loaded.
The scene
Ulla: Two-forty cash. Three ways is eighty each; I'd keep it simple.
Urban: Simple's fine, but I haul speakers and wear out the van, remember?
Ulla: I wrote every song tonight. Nobody's paying for the speakers alone.
Urban: Fair enough. You're the tiebreaker, how do you want to split it?
The two questions
- 1What would you do, and why?
- 2Tell us about a time you had to share credit or rewards with others who contributed differently from you. How did you handle it?
What raters look for
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
- Motivation
- Shows genuine, sustained drive and a clear reason for choices, including when work is unglamorous.
