Scene to read · Professionalism, Equity
The last SUV
You work at an airport car rental counter beside your coworker Ekow.
Agents may give a few free goodwill upgrades a month, at their own judgment; yours are used up. Ekow just upgraded two friends and has put his last one on the only SUV left, for a cousin landing in an hour. Lokesh watched from the line. His reserved compact is not ready, and he steps up to your desk.
The scene
Lokesh: I watched his friends get upgraded for free. My compact isn't even ready.
Ekow: There's one SUV left, and it's held. My cousin lands in an hour.
Lokesh: So it's held for family, while I stand here with a reservation?
Ekow: A compact comes back at four. It's your desk, though. Your keys.
The two questions
- 1What would you say to Lokesh, and what would you do about the SUV?
- 2Describe a time you saw someone receive special treatment that others did not get. How did you respond?
What raters look for
- Professionalism
- Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
- Equity
- Notices unequal access or treatment and acts fairly, especially for people with less power.
