Scene to read · Professionalism, Communication
Perfect light
You are visiting a riverside memorial wall with your close friend Jurgen.
The wall is engraved with the names of people who died in a local flood six years ago, including one of your former teachers. A few steps away, Mona, a stranger of about twenty, has propped up her phone and is filming an upbeat dance against the wall.
The scene
Mona: Sorry, could you two step left? You're in my frame. Perfect light here.
Jurgen: Sure, sorry. We were just reading the names.
Mona: Oh, cool. Two more takes and I'm gone. Unless I'm in your way?
Jurgen: You're fine. Hey, let it go, okay? We did dumber stuff at twenty.
The two questions
- 1Would you say anything to Mona? If so, what, and how?
- 2Describe a time you had to decide whether to say something to a stranger about their behavior. What did you do?
What raters look for
- Professionalism
- Is reliable, respects boundaries and confidentiality, and holds a consistent standard under pressure.
- Communication
