Written scenario · Resilience, Ethics
Organizer again, or step aside?
You are a member of an open-water swim group who made a scheduling mistake.
You told the group's online chat that your scheduling mistake made its event registration late, so the group must plan a replacement activity. Some teammates want you to organize it to rebuild trust. Others want a fresh organizer so everyone can move on. You are willing to help, but you are unsure whether leading again serves the group or mainly eases your own embarrassment. Decide how to respond in the chat.
The two questions
- 1What would you write to the group, and why?
- 2When, if ever, is it right to take on the very task you got wrong, and how do you decide?
What raters look for
- Resilience
- Recovers from setbacks, manages stress constructively, and learns from failure.
- Ethics
- Weighs competing duties honestly, protects people from harm, and stays accountable to rules and values.
