I counted

You are a project coordinator at a nonprofit.

In this morning's planning meeting, the new hire, Pete, tried to present an idea he had prepared. You cut in each time because you saw a budget problem the team needed to hear before voting. The team is filing back in for the next session when your coworker Abena stops you and Pete by the door.

What's said in the scene

Abena: I counted. You cut Pete off four times. He never got to finish.

Pete: It's fine. The budget problem was real. Better it came out early.

Abena: He spent a week on that idea. Say something before everyone sits down.

Pete: Please don't. Not in front of the whole team. Can we just drop it?

The two questions

  1. 1How would you respond to Abena and Pete?
  2. 2Tell us about a time someone pointed out a habit of yours that you had not noticed. What did you do with that?
