Too many recipes, too few pages
You are the project coordinator for a community cooking club's anniversary cookbook.
The book has a fixed page count, and members have sent in far more recipes than will fit. A few enthusiastic members submitted a dozen or more each, while many others sent one recipe, and some sent none. You can cap the number of recipes per member, choose purely by quality, or find another approach. The club is waiting for your plan, and you must announce it to everyone.
The two questions
- 1What would you decide about how to choose the recipes, and why?
- 2Describe a time you had to share limited space, time or resources fairly among people who had all contributed. How did you decide?
What raters look for
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
- Equity
- Notices unequal access or treatment and acts fairly, especially for people with less power.
