The chat on the porch
You are the third organizer of your neighborhood group chat, asked to break a deadlock between the other two.
On Ludovic's porch, fellow organizers Ludmila, 30, and Ludovic, 43, ask for your vote on the neighborhood chat's future. It has helped find lost pets and arrange rides, but posts about delivery workers and unfamiliar people increasingly invite unfair suspicion. Moderating the hundred-member group would require time none of you currently has spare.
The scene
Ludmila: Someone posted another delivery driver's photo yesterday, saying he looked suspicious.
Ludovic: But it's helped find pets and arrange rides. We'd lose that.
Ludmila: We need rules, but I can't moderate a hundred neighbors myself.
Ludovic: Some neighbors will see rules as censorship. What can we manage?
The two questions
- 1What would you do to break the deadlock, and what would you say to Ludmila and Ludovic?
- 2How do you decide whether to keep, change, or end something that helps many people but also harms a few?
What raters look for
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
- Problem solving
- Gathers facts before acting, considers options and consequences, and chooses a workable next step.
