Scene to read · Collaboration, Empathy
Third Saturday running
You volunteer as a guide on a free Saturday history walk and draw up the route each week.
You, Lorenzo and Putri each lead four stops. Ten minutes before the start, by the plaza fountain, Putri admits she has not learned her stops, for the third week in a row. About twenty visitors are gathering nearby.
The scene
Lorenzo: Third week, Putri. Last Saturday I covered your stops cold and got two dates wrong.
Putri: I know. My dad moved in this month. I'm barely keeping up.
Lorenzo: I'm sorry about that. But these people deserve a guide who's prepared.
Putri: I can read from the notes. Or just take me off. You decide the route.
The two questions
- 1How would you split today's tour, and what would you say to Lorenzo and Putri?
- 2Describe a time a teammate repeatedly did not do their part. How did you handle it?
What raters look for
- Collaboration
- Works toward a shared goal, shares credit and load, and repairs friction inside a team.
- Empathy
- Recognizes what others feel and need, and lets that shape the response without losing judgment.
