Where did everyone go?
You are a student coordinator at your university's free peer tutoring center.
Visits to the center have dropped by half since last year, even though first-year enrolment went up and more students are failing introductory courses. The center's director asks you to find out why and suggest changes before its funding is reviewed in two months.

The two questions
- 1How would you find out what is going on?
- 2Describe a time you solved a problem by questioning your first assumption about its cause.
What raters look for
- Problem solving
- Gathers facts before acting, considers options and consequences, and chooses a workable next step.
- Communication
- Listens first, speaks clearly and respectfully, and adapts the message to the listener.
