Many wishes, one plan
Trips, celebrations and outings often start with a group whose members want different things: a different budget, pace, place or kind of day. Think about a time you helped such a group move toward one plan.
The two questions
- 1Tell us about a time you helped a group settle on a shared plan for a trip, event or outing when people wanted different things. What did you do to find a plan that could work?
- 2Describe a time you communicated with a group during that process, and what you would do differently if you helped plan something similar again.
What raters look for
- Problem solving
- Gathers facts before acting, considers options and consequences, and chooses a workable next step.
- Communication
- Listens first, speaks clearly and respectfully, and adapts the message to the listener.
