One copy, six classmates

You are a student who currently holds your cohort's single library copy of a required text.

Your program owns one library copy of the required text, and it is checked out to you for the week. A quiz in a new format is coming, and at least five classmates have messaged asking for time with the book. You have been using it heavily and still have chapters to review. The library does not allow renewals while others are waiting, and nobody has organized anything yet. You decide how the copy is shared.

The two questions

  1. 1What would you do about the shared copy, and why?
  2. 2Describe a time you had to share a limited resource with others while also protecting your own needs. How did you decide what was fair?

What raters look for

Problem solving
Gathers facts before acting, considers options and consequences, and chooses a workable next step.
Self-awareness
Recognizes own biases, limits and emotions, and seeks and uses feedback.
