Would you have hired me?

You are an assistant at a staffing agency.

Joel interviewed for a warehouse supervisor job through your agency and was turned down. You sat in to take notes and thought his answers rambled. He has come back to reception, where you are standing with Simone, the recruiter.

What's said in the scene

Joel: Nine rejections this year. You took the notes in there. Would you have hired me?

Simone: Joel, our contract says feedback comes from the client. Not us.

Simone: I've asked them twice for you. They haven't answered.

Joel: Then a yes or a no. That's all I'm asking. Would you?

The two questions

  1. 1What would you do or say?
  2. 2Tell us about a time you had to choose between giving someone an honest opinion and staying within your role. What did you do?
