Test everyone or trust them
You sit on the employee safety committee of a moving company.
Last month one of the company's loaded trucks clipped a parked car, and the driver later admitted he had been impaired at the wheel. The owner wants the committee to recommend one response: random testing for every driver, or a confidential self-report program with paid time off for treatment. Morgan, a driver of twelve years, says testing treats the whole crew as suspects and will teach people to hide problems. The dispatcher answers that a program that waits for people to come forward did nothing to stop last month's driver. The committee is split, and your vote decides.
