Is Confetto AI Worth It? An Honest Look (2026)
Who Confetto is worth paying for, who should skip it, what it costs next to a coach, and how to decide during the 7-day free trial. Written by the team.

For most applicants with interviews coming up in the next few weeks, yes, if you will actually use it. Confetto is worth paying for when you want many timed, spoken mock interviews with follow-up questions and the same scoring every time, at any hour. It is not worth it if you only want a list of questions, if you already practice daily with a strong partner, or if your one interview is in two days and you need an experienced person to pressure-test your judgment. The cheapest way to find out is the 7-day free trial, which includes 3 free mock interviews.
We make Confetto, so read this as the maker's view. We have tried to be specific about who should not buy it, and every price and feature below is taken from our own plans page and the provider pages linked from our comparison, as of October 2026.
The short answer
- Worth it if: you have one or more interviews (MMI, traditional or panel) in the next 1 to 8 weeks, you want to practice out loud several times a week, and you want feedback you can compare from one session to the next.
- Probably not worth it if: you have no interview invitation yet and are still writing secondaries, you only need question lists, or you have a free mock partner and a pre-health advisor who already give you detailed feedback.
- Use it alongside a person if: your interview is very soon and you want someone experienced to challenge your judgment. Use Confetto for repetitions before that session, not instead of it.
What you get
- A live mock interview, out loud. You answer in a video call with an AI interviewer that asks follow-up questions, in MMI, traditional or panel format.
- Scored feedback after each answer. Rubric scores, a transcript, a model answer to compare against, and line-by-line suggestions for what to say differently.
- Video and delivery feedback. Eye contact, pacing, filler words, tone and body language from your recording. This is the part a text chatbot cannot do.
- Over 500 questions, across ethics, communication, health systems, personal journey and MMI scenarios, and you can add your own.
- Other programs and formats. Questions for medical school, residency, PA, dental, nursing and other health programs, plus full MMI circuits, panel interviews and Casper practice tests.
Every plan includes the same features; plans differ only in how long you have access.
What it costs, compared with the alternatives
| Option | Price, as of October 2026 | What the price buys |
|---|---|---|
| Confetto | $149 for 1 week, $299 for 1 month, $579 for 1 year; 7-day free trial with 3 free mocks | Unlimited mock interviews for the access period |
| Human coach (examples) | Shemmassian $599 for 1 round; Accepted $750 for 1; Inspira $600 for 1 session | One live session with an experienced person |
| Free options | $0 | School or advisor mocks, peers, the free tiers of AI tools, our free MMI station |
Coach prices are from each provider's own page, listed with sources on our comparison page. Prices change, so check before you buy.
The useful way to judge the price is per practice session. One month of Confetto costs about half of a single coaching session, and if you do three mocks a week for a month, that is around twelve full sessions. A coach gives you something different: a person who has sat on the other side of the table. If you can afford one coaching session, a common plan is to use it near the end, after you have fixed the basics with repetition. Our guide to interview prep costs breaks this down further.
If money is the main constraint, you can also start free inside ChatGPT: you can do one mock interview there without an account, and a free Confetto account gives you one mock in ChatGPT each week, with your score, feedback and history.
Who it is not for
- Applicants without an invitation yet. Write your secondaries first. A week of access is best spent close to the interview.
- People who want a human verdict. An AI interviewer is consistent and always available, but it is not a former admissions committee member, and it cannot tell you how one specific interviewer at one school will react.
- People who will not practice out loud. The value is in speaking, hearing a follow-up and trying again. If you will only read model answers, a free question list does the same job.
How to decide during the 7-day free trial
The trial includes 3 free mock interviews. Use them as a test, not a warm-up:
- Day 1: one full mock in the format your school uses. Check the format in your school's interview guide, then run that format. Read the whole report, including the video feedback.
- Day 2 or 3: fix one thing and repeat. Pick the single lowest rubric score, read the model answer, and run a second mock focused on it.
- Day 4 to 6: the hardest question type for you. For most people this is an ethics scenario or "why this school". Use the third mock on it.
- Before day 7: compare the three reports.
Keep it if the feedback told you something you did not already know and your second and third answers were clearly better. Do not keep it if the feedback felt generic for your answers, or if you did not find time to practice during the trial week: a paid week will not change that. What other applicants say
Our homepage lists 13,900+ applicants who have used Confetto, 6,731+ accepted at top medical schools, and over 1.3 million minutes of practice. You can also search TikTok for "confetto ai" to see applicants talking about it in their own words.
How Confetto compares with ChatGPT and other AI tools
ChatGPT is a good free tool for question lists and written feedback on an answer you type, but it does not run a timed spoken mock with follow-ups or analyze your video. We explain where a chatbot is enough in Can ChatGPT replace med school mock interviews?. Other AI interview tools exist with free tiers and different prices; the comparison page lists them with what each one's own page says, including where they are the better choice.
FAQ
Is Confetto legit?
Yes. Confetto is operated by Trueplace Technologies Inc. Prices are published on the plans page, and you can cancel any time in Settings on app.confetto.ai.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New accounts start with a 7-day free trial that includes 3 free mock interviews.
Which plan should I pick?
Match the plan to your interview dates. One interview in the next week or two: 1 week ($149). Several interviews across a month: 1 month ($299). Interviews spread across the whole season, or a reapplication: 1 year ($579, about $48 a month).
Does it work for MMI and traditional interviews?
Yes. You can run MMI stations and full circuits, traditional one-on-one interviews and panel interviews.
Does it cover PA, dental, nursing or residency?
Yes. The question bank includes medical school, residency, PA, dental, nursing and other health programs. See the program pages for each.
Is it better than a human mock interview?
It is different. Confetto gives you unlimited repetitions with consistent scoring and video feedback at any hour; a person gives you judgment and experience. Many applicants use both.
Can I try it without paying?
Yes: the 7-day free trial, one free mock in ChatGPT, and the free MMI station, which needs no account.
