Preparing for the Texas A&M veterinary school interview
Texas A&M veterinary interview: a virtual asynchronous MMI on Kira Talent, 2 minutes to plan and 4 to answer, scored by two evaluators, and practice questions.

The Texas A&M veterinary interview format
The Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences interviews in the Multiple Mini Interview format, and its selection page says selected applicants complete a series of virtual, asynchronous mini interviews. Its message about MMIs says they are held through Kira Talent.
Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine also requires Casper for the Fall 2027 cycle, and listed August 25, 2026 as the last day to complete it for 2026-27. See Casper for PA, nursing, pharmacy, dental and vet programs for how Casper fits other programs.

The college's message about MMIs describes last cycle's schedule: candidates logged in on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the designated time, accessed each question and recorded their responses. Reviewers then scored the recordings. Expect a similar pattern next cycle, but go by your own invitation.
What Texas A&M looks for
The college says the MMI format, including the ability to review and score applicants by video, is designed to increase fairness and the reliability and measurability of characteristics such as communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving, empathy and ethics. Beyond the interview, its formula weights GPA at 38% to 43%, veterinary and animal experience at 10% to 15%, and all other achievements, activities and evaluations at 20% to 25%.
The cycle in brief
- Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central for this cycle.
- Who is interviewed: applicants are scored and ranked on academic and professional preparation criteria, and interviews are scheduled once the college decides how many to conduct.
- Experience: veterinary experience (hours under a veterinarian) and animal experience are scored separately.
- Evaluations: at least one must come from a non-family veterinarian you have worked with or for.
- After an offer: applicants who are offered admission are invited to a visitation day in the spring.
How to prepare for Texas A&M
- Practice the 2-and-4 rhythm. Two minutes to plan, four to answer. Four minutes is short, so practice a clear opening and a closing sentence.
- Practice recording. Use the platform's practice mode, and record yourself on your own device so you see how you look and sound.
- Set up your space. Test your camera, lighting and microphone ahead of time, and remove anything that might look like assistance.
- Know the rule on assistance. The college bans any form of assistance, including AI, smart glasses, other internet tools and another person. Treat notes as off limits too (our inference) and practice without them.
- Use our recorded-interview guide. See our Kira Talent guide and MMI practice guide.
Texas A&M veterinary practice questions (written by us, not Texas A&M)
Texas A&M does not publish its questions. These are ours, built from the qualities it names. Answer each aloud in four minutes after two minutes of planning.
- A client wants to continue expensive treatment for an elderly pet that has a poor prognosis. How do you counsel them?
- You discover a colleague has made a medication error. What do you do?
- Describe a time you had to communicate something difficult to someone upset.
- A rancher disagrees with your recommended herd treatment because of cost. How do you proceed?
- Tell me about a time you worked with a team to solve a problem under time pressure.
- How should veterinarians balance animal welfare and the economic realities of livestock production?
- Describe a decision you made that others disagreed with.
- A shelter has limited resources and many animals. How would you decide who gets treatment?
- What does empathy mean when working with both animals and their owners?
- Tell me about a time you were wrong and had to change course.

A drill for a one-hour recorded MMI
- Record six prompts back to back with two minutes of planning and four minutes of answering.
- Take two minutes between questions, just as the real one does.
- Watch two recordings with the sound off and check your posture and eye line.
- Redo your weakest answer with a clearer first sentence.
- Repeat on another day under the same rules: no AI, no helpers, and no notes.
Confetto's vet school interview prep uses AI mock interviews, including timed MMI-style stations, that ask follow-up questions based on what you actually said and give rubric-based feedback afterward. The question bank has over 500 questions, and you can start with a 7-day free trial.
