Preparing for the Roseman College of Medicine interview
Roseman College of Medicine's two 30-minute virtual interviews, the Kira video assessment in the secondary, the new-school timeline and practice questions.

The Roseman University College of Medicine interview format
Roseman University College of Medicine, in Summerlin, Las Vegas, interviews virtually. The AAMC's MSAR report for the 2027 class says applicants "will participate in two 30-minute virtual interviews with faculty or senior staff leadership from the College of Medicine," invitations come through the admissions portal and email (starting August 1, 2026), and applicants must attend a required virtual pre-interview session first, where they learn about the interview process, the university, the college and student services. Its MD program page says virtual interviews run from late August 2026 through April 2027 and that details come with an invitation.
Before interview, selected applicants complete a secondary application that includes essay prompts and a "Kira Video Assessment," described as "a virtual interview component" with "timed video and written responses" to gauge communication skills, professionalism, problem solving and critical thinking. It is separate from the live interviews.

A new school with a new process
The page says Roseman received Preliminary LCME accreditation in February 2025, plans a class of 60 starting July 19, 2027, and begins sending final decisions on October 15, 2026 on a rolling basis. Because the school is new, the process may change between cycles; the official page says "additional details will be provided for invited applicants."
What Roseman says it is looking for
The selection criteria say the school seeks applicants who align with its mission, vision and values, who show academic ability, and who show "commitment to improving health inequities in our communities." The program page describes physicians who are "socially accountable, community-based, patient-centered, culturally humble, empathetic, clinically excellent," a household-centered care model called GENESIS and a curriculum covering social determinants of health and interprofessional teamwork. Applicants need a valid MCAT within the last four years and three to six letters.
How to prepare for the Roseman interview
- Prepare for the Kira assessment as its own step. It uses timed video and written responses, so practice recording short answers under a clock.
- Attend the pre-interview session. The MSAR report calls it required; use it to shape your questions.
- Prepare for leadership interviewers. Faculty or senior staff are conducting the conversations; be ready to discuss mission fit with both.
- Know the health inequities angle. The school names health inequities in its criteria; have a specific story.
- Ask about GENESIS. The household-centered model is distinctive; ask how students work with it.
Roseman practice questions (written by us, not Roseman University of Health Sciences)
Roseman does not publish its interview questions. We wrote these around its stated mission. Keep each answer to about two minutes.
- Why do you want to be a physician?
- Why Roseman, and why Las Vegas?
- What does health equity mean to you, and what have you done about it?
- What does "socially accountable" mean for a physician?
- Tell me about a time you worked with a team across professions.
- Describe a time you advocated for someone who could not advocate for themselves.
- Tell me about a time you made a mistake and what you did about it.
- How would you build trust with a patient from a community you do not know?
- What does it mean to be culturally humble, and how would you practice it?
- What do you think is the biggest risk and benefit of joining a new medical school?
